Dr Kate Flynn's Colombian Talks

Kate Flynn Friday 28 February 2014

Dr Flynn has been giving two talks in Colombia. Both are based on her experience in Cyprus and part of developing a broader critique of foreign aid and peace-building.

The first, “‘Not Open to the Public’: International Aid and the Cyprus Peace Process,” took place at the international seminar ‘International Cooperation in Post-Conflict Scenarios’ at Universidad Icesi (Cali) on Wednesday 26th February. The second, “International Aid and the Cyprus Peace Process: Does International Aid to CSOs Support Peace?” was part of the panel ‘Post-Conflict International Cooperation: Beyond the Promises and Numbers’ at the third Congress of the Colombian International Studies Association at Universidad EAFIT (Medellin) on Friday, 28 February.

Later in the year she is co-running the workshop “Connecting Peace and Conflict Studies with Professional Practice” at the Sarajevo Peace Event (Bosnia-Herzegovina) 6th - 9th June 2014.
