The title of this ESRC sponsored event is attributable to Virginia Woolf who wrote "As a woman my country is the whole world." This concept runs through the event which aims to increase the visibility of international and local narratives of women and girls through a documentary screening and a mixed media performance.

The documentary 'It's a Girl' will be screened with a participatory practice that will facilitate a audience led debate by 'interrupting' the screening so the audience can discuss the documentary.

This will be facilitated by Dr Elena Boschi, lecturer in visual communication from Liverpool Hope University. The mixed media performance will be delivered by a local group the Migrant Artists Mutual Aid (MAMA), this group aims to "to promote cohesion and intercultural understanding while raising money for migrants in crisis".
